'Mendeleev had to place an element with a slightly greater atomic mass before the element with a slightly lower atomic mass.'

I think this is a limitation but why it is given in the "Achievements of Mendeleev periodic table"??

because mendeleev had explained much things which were not explained by dobennier traids, etc. He gave all the improvements in his periodic table ,except ,arranging of elements according to their atomic number, which is one of the anomalies of Mendeleev atomic periodic table ..
Hope this will help you mate...

manguprince: so it is an achievement?
ishitabhatia873: no it is a limitation. elements must be arranged according to their increasing atomic number.
manguprince: atomic mass*
ishitabhatia873: no atomic number
ishitabhatia873: elements are arranged in increasing order of their atomic number in the modern periodic table
manguprince: but i asked aboud Medeleev's
manguprince: ok leave it
manguprince: well...thanks
ishitabhatia873: ok
