Mens have become tools of their tools which was famously said by Henry David Thoreau . This quote got us thinking that there may be an element of truth to this when it comes to Program and Project Management. Today we have Portfolio and Project Management (PPM) tools that seem to do it all. They can provide your organization's Resource, Budget, Schedule, Risk, and Artifact management. They can generate flashy metrics and reports that look impressive. If it could only be a scribe in those long and contentious meetings and generate minutes shortly thereafter, there would be very little use for some of the PMs out there.
