Two problems faced by Dalits are

1. Poverty: Dalits are often poor due to lack of economic opportunities. Due to centuries of oppression, Dalits have been deprived of wealth and property. Often, they need to work in very low paying occupations like agricultural or manual labour. Due to their low income, Dalits also lack access to proper health and education facilities.

2. Violence: In many parts of India, Dalits suffer violence at the hands of upper castes. Many upper caste people do not wish Dalits to become politically and economically strong. Hence, they use violence to instil fear among Dalits so that they do not seek political and economic power.
