$\textbf{Communalism :}$ The condition when befiefs of one religion are presented as superior to those of other religions. This leads to the opposition between the demands of different religious groups. This condition can be referred as Communalism.

◾Communalism affects the secularism in a country. Some parties often give importance to their religion which depressed the other communities.

◾A communal mind often leads to a quest for the political dominance of one's own religious community. For those belonging to majority, this may takes the form of Majoritarianism, like in Sri Lanka.

◾Sometime the Communalism become so wider and take the ugly form of communal violence, riots and massacre. The Partition of India and Pakistan is a good example of this.
