From Gujarat to Arunachal Pradesh there is a time lag of two hours. Hence time along the standard meridian of India(82°30`E)passing through Mirzapur is taken as the standard time for whole country. Otherwise different regions of India would have different time which would create time confusion to maintain harmony and uniformity of time we need standard Meridian.

the three reasons are-
1). to avoid the confusion of time across different sections of our country because many longitudes pass through our country and the time difference between Gujrat and arunachal Pradesh is 2 hours

2). as India is not as large as Russia, only one standard meridian is sufficient for the whole country (Russia has more than one standard meridian due to its large area)

3). as the longitude chosen as standard meridian passes through almost the middle of our country, it is perfect to be chosen as the standard meridian and we do not require more of it.

hope it helps and tell me the point where I am wrong!!!!
