one of them is bearing heterosexual flowers. where one type of flower is male and other is female and cross pollination has to occurs in order to have a successful fertilization.

since flowers are heterosexual they will lag one of the other part either male or female part and so no self pollination will occur.

example of such flowers are flowers of papaya, bottle guard , bitter guard , sponge guard etc
