The two changes made by Joseph Stalin in the Soviet economy were the following.
- Joseph Stalin was the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1922 to 1952.
- To improve the stagnating Soviet economy he introduced many different economic policies.
- The first of them was the elimination of Kulaks. The Kulaks were the rich private farmers of Russia.
- Stalin's economic policies tried to spell an end for the Kulaks who held huge tracts of land and were quite influential.
- Another change introduced by Stalin was the collectivization programs introduced in the agricultural sector.
- Under this program, peasants collectively collected a piece of land which was called the Kolkhoz.
- Stalin was very harsh with his critics. He often had his opponents charged with treason and then executed. Other people were deported and exiled.
