Answer:
Three problems faced by Illtutmish:
1. Nasiruddin Qubach, the governor of Sind revolted against Illtutmish and further wanted to annex Punjab.
Iltutmish expelled Nasiruddin Qubacha from Lahore and was defeated in the battle. Sindh was then annexed to Delhi.
2. The Mongols for the first time appeared on the borders of India in 1221 CE. They had already invaded the countries of Central and Western Asia. When the Mongols under Ghengis Khan were chasing the Shah of Persia, the latter sought shelter from Iltutmish. The Mongols were thus threatening the Indian kingdom.
Iltutmish refused shelter to the Shah of Perisa who was followed by the mongols under Ghengis Khan. He thus acted diplomatically and perhaps saved India from the possible Mongol attacks.
3. Ali Mardaan Khan, the governor of Bengal, declared his independence from the Delhi Sultanate.
He completely crushed the revolt led by Ali Mardan Khan in Bengal.

There were various nobles and local rulers who were not ready to accept his authority as Iltutmish was previously a slave. He tried to pacify them by granting lands.
When the Rajput rulers declared their independence, Ilturmish defeated them as well.
The Yuldoz of Ghazni, Qubacha of Sind, Khaljis of Bihar and Ali Mardan Khan of Bengal and Aram Shah were some of the contenders who desired to ascend the Delhi throne. Iltutmish, however, very successfully crushed his rivals.
The Mongols under Chengiz Khan had reached India while chasing the Shah of Iran, who wanted to seek shelter in India. Iltutmish refused to give refuge to Shah of Iran and, thus, saved his kingdom from the cruelties and horrors of the Mongols.
