Hypermetropia or farsightedness:
- This is an eye defect which occurs when an irregularly-shaped eye prevents light from properly lining up with the retina. The result is that it’s hard to see nearby objects.
- People of any age, including babies, can get this refractive defect of the eye.
Presbyopia:
- It is an age-related condition in which the lens of the eye becomes less flexible. For people with presbyopia adjusting focus between far-away and nearby objects is difficult.
- This condition is most common in people between the ages of 40 and 50.
