The features of the Gudem rebellion:

1. Gudem rebellion was a 'Tribal Uprising' and it was motivated by Gandhiji's thought of Swaraj.

2. The 'colonial government' had stopped the forest area of Gudem hill and banned the forest dwellers from entering to crop their cattle, collect fruits and fuelwood. This affected their traditional rights and their livelihoods were denied.  

The methods the tribals adopted to gain Swaraj was violence and force.

  • The people rebelled and a person named Alluri Sitaram Raju led them. He was motivated by the 'Non-Cooperation movement' of Gandhiji. But he trusted India could be freed from British rule by violence.
