There were many grievances which uprising the revolt by the Indian soldiers.
- Indian soldiers were on lower posts while the Britishers were posted on high posts.
- Indian soldiers were paid less salary in comparison with British soldiers.
- In the army Britishers used Enfield rifles which used cow and pig fat in cartridges, “Hindu and Muslim” soldiers protested against this.
- There was discrimination between ‘British’ and ‘Indian’ soldiers. The behaviour of the British soldier was rude against Indian soldiers.
