Human activities which are responsible for air pollution are
1. Excessive use of fossil fuels i.e., coal and petroleum. Because burning of these fossil fuels
adds carbon particles to the atmosphere which causes smog. It produces huge amount of
carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide as well.
2. Use of chiorofluorocarbons (CFCs) in refrigeration is responsible for depletion of ozone
layer.
3. Establishment of a number of industries which release carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide,
oxides of nitrogen, hydrocarbons, heavy metals, etc.
