Concentration gradient - The movement of osmosis is affected by the concentration gradient; the lower the concentration of the solute within a solvent, the faster osmosis will occur in that solvent. Light and dark – They are also factors of osmosis; since the brighter the light, the faster osmosis takes place.

Process of osmosis:
Osmosis is the process where there is movement of solvent from region of its higher concentration to region of its lower concentration through semipermeable membrane. Osmosis is affected by some of the features like as follows:
- Permeability of membrane – This allows the "movement of solvent and its rate".
- Concentration differences – Concentration differences between "two solutions" affect rate of osmosis.
- Temperature – "Higher temperature" facilitates rate of osmosis.
- Pressure – Pressure differences between "two solutions also affects osmosis".
