2) kangaroo rat - These desert rodents plug the opening of their burrows. This helps them to recycle the moisture from their breath. Additionally, many of these rodents have developed highly specialized method of keeping water in their bodies. 3) Fennec fox - The Fennec fox seem to be the only carnivore living in the sahara desert that is able to survive without free water. Their large ears, which are usually 6 inches long, help dissipate excess body heat on hot days in the desert.
