and sporophyll has a small scale-like outgrowth called a ligule at the base of the upper surface. The plants are heterosporouswith spores of two different size classes, known as# megaspores# and #microspores#. Under dry conditions, some species ofSelaginella can survive dehydration.

selaginella, a pteridophyte, produces two different kinds of spores i.e microspores and megaspores . microspores give rise to male gametophyte and megaspores give rise to female gametophyte hope this is helpful...
