basically resources are classified as :-

* natural resources- resources which are derived directly from nature.ex- wind, water, forest etc.

* man made resources- resources which are made or modified by humans.ex- plastic,metal,paper etc.

further resources are classified:-

* on the basis of origin- biotic and abiotic

* on basis of exhaustibility- renewable and non renewable

* on basic of ownership- individual, community,national and international

* on basis of status of development- potential, stocks and reserves
