what is MTR?
it is mountaintop removal.
one may get coal from this type of mining.
it has many effects on environment:
✯ as it pollutes the water resources such as streams as they originate from the mountains. { we know this by studying the hydrological cycle when precipitation occurs and rivers start to flow downwards. }
✯ it is only because of MTR that solid particles get accumulated in the air and can cause respiratory problems.
✯ it contributes towards deforestation.
✯ it damages flora and fauna living in that area.
