Artificial insemination/ reproduction/ propagation is the creation of new life by other than the natural means available for any particular organism.
There are two different artificial insemination procedures:
1. Intrauterine insemination (IUI), which is most common today
2. Intracervical insemination (ICI), also known as intravaginal insemination
Step 1: The physical exam-----Both female and respective male partner (or the potential donor) will undergo a complete physical examination that includes blood testing also.
Step 2: Fertility drugs and monitoring-----Combining hormone treatments [Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG)] with IUI gives infertile couples a better chance at pregnancy. Insertion of partner’s sperm (or donor sperm) should be done within 24-36 hours after this injection. A daily basal body temperature (BBT) and/or changes to cervical mucus is also recorded.
Step 3: Preparing the sperm----sample will undergo a special washing and processing procedure to maximize the chances of conception.
Step 4: Insertion of the sperm---- A speculum is inserted and the sperm sample is prepared for insertion. Sperm is placed into the uterine cavity with a thin catheter and syringe.

Step 5: Rest----A cervical cap or sponge is placed on vagina to keep the sperm near the cervix which is removable. It is advised to lie down for 15-20 minutes with the sponge as it boosts your chances of getting pregnant.
Hope it helps!!!
