Nerve cell's end has synaptic balls that release neurotransmitters which moves through synapse to reach another nerve cell's dendron. Since this is happening due to a chemical messenger it's a chemical impulse.

Nerve cell or Neuron consists of an axon, dendrite and a cell body. Axon of one neuron meets to the dendrite of another cell. Between these two neurons is a space called synaptic area. When electrical signal induced in brain, it sends signal to the receptor by sending an impulse.

When the impulse reaches at the synapse region, it produces neurotransmitter that enters the dendrites of another neuron via synaptic region and move so on. This is how impulse travels.
