excessive use of fertilizers help in increasing crop yeild but when fertilizers get washed off through irrigation and rainfall they get flown water bodies like rivers and lakes which causes water pollution.Manures increase texture of soil and also add humus to soil.

usage of fertilizer actually reduces the maturation period by providing nutrients. But overuse of these fertilizers has made the soil less nutritious.

manure has less nutrients and more humus. so it has to used in large quantities.

therefore long term use of manure and short term use of fertilizers is healthy for the plant.
