There are various factors responsible for this phenomenon.


Main reason is uneven and poor growth factor and inadequate employment as stated below:


Growth Factor: As development taking place in India it is observed that therise in earnings different for different group of people.


The rise of incomes of the upper and middle-income groups is more rapid than those of the poor. Migration of huge population from agricultural sector to urban area is another reason.


Agricultural sector growth is poor than modern large industrial sector which growing more rapidly.


Two main sources of income from combined property namely, land, cattle, shares, and labour.


In India a few own a large chunk of income – earning assets.


Inadequate Employment Generation: If adequate employment scope is generated, Peoplefrom under privilege group could raise their status.


Differential Regional Growth: A great chunk of people lives in the undeveloped states or regions, and most of the few at the top live in the high- income regions.
