Since then Government has tried to improve status of women in our society through Social legislation about the right of property, marriage, divorce , dowry, domestic Violence, harassment protection of girl child before and after birth. Unfortunately mind set of most pf us are not prepared to accept these changes. Even most of those who are responsible to implement these policies like Police and Judiciary are themselves not convinced about these regulations.

So Social reality remains different from legal provisions. Still process of change is moving in positive direction.
