Marathi is an Indo-Aryan language spoken predominantly by the people of Maharashtra. It is the official and co-official language of Maharashtra and Goa states of western India.
My locality is from South India and the dialects of Marathi used here are Thanjavur Marathi, Namadeva Shimpi Marathi, Arey Marathi and Bhavsar Marathi. These Marathi dialects are prevalent in various parts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
