ANSWER

➡️Rutherford's atomic model could not explain how the moving electrons could remain in its orbit.

➡️Any charged particle during acceleration would give out energy, and while revolving it would lose energy and eventually fall into the nucleus.

➡️This means that the atom would be highly unstable.

➡️But, matter is composed of stable atoms.

➡️Thus, the major drawback of Rutherford's atomic model was that it could not explain the stability of atoms.

hope it helps ☺️

Answer:

Drawbacks of Rutheeford Model -

•It does not say anything about the distribution of electrons around the nucleus and the energy of electrons.

•Due to charge in direction a moving body undergoes acceleration even while moving at a constant speed. A charged particle on acceleration should emit electromagnetic radiation.

•Hence, the energy carried by radiation coming from motion of electron and the orbit is expected to drink continuously does the electron should follow a spiral path and ultimately fall into the nucleus.

•But this does not happen so rutherford's model could not explain the stability of an atom.
