hGolgi Apparatus:

=============

Also called golgi bodies, golgi complex etc and in plants it is called as DICTYOSOMES.

IT is a single membrane bound structure called vesicles arranged in the form of parallel stacts called as CISTERNS.

NOW coming to the function:

_____________________________

The main function includes PACKAGING, MODIFICATION, AND SECRETION.

IT also functions for the conversion of simple sugars into complex sugars.

It is also involved in the formation of LYSOSOMES.

LYSOSOMES
===========
●The different processes of digestion make up different functions of lysosomes. Major functions of lysosomes can be enumerated as follows :

●Digestion of extracellular particles: lysosomes digest food particles that enter into the cell and are called as phagosomes or pinosomes.

For example, lysosomes of leucocytes digest the foreign materials entering the cell like bacteria and viruses.

●Digestion of intracellular particles: Lysosomes contain more than 50 enzymes, which in time of starvation, breakdown stored material or substances in the form of carbohydrates, lipids and proteins o amino acids to release energy.
_______

VACOULES
_________

Vacuole is a major part in plants and animals.

●Vacuoles plays a major role in degradation of a cells own components which is called as autophagy.

● It maintains the balance between biogensis and degradation of many substances and cell structures.

●Vacuoles store food and other materials needed for a cell.

●Vacuoles removes unwanted structural debris and exports unwanted substances from the cell.

●Maintains acidic pH and hydro-static pressure within the cell.

Plays a role in intracellular digestion.
