RESPIRATION IN PLANTS AND ANIMALS

1.Both plants and animals generally show aerobic respiration.

2.Both utilize oxygen for the oxidation of food and production carbon dioxide, along with the release of energy.

3.Animals generally have special respiratory organs but plants do not.Oxygen enters through the stomata and the lenticels.

4.Animals will have some type of ventilation movements to facilitate the entry and exit of air (except animals which breathe through their body surface) but plants absorb air by diffusion through out their body surface.

5. Since plants utilize the carbon dioxide they produce during respiration for the process of photosynthesis, it appears as if they do not breathe during the daytime. They breathe, but the CO2 is not evolved during the day, only at night.

ANSWER

Photosynthesis takes place in the chloroplasts in the leaves of plants.. Molecules of CO2 and H2O are put together to form the compound Glucose and produce a waste product which luckily for us is oxygen, the oxygen is released into the atmosphere and the glucose is used around the plant for energy in the cells.
