Answer:These are some preventive steps:-

1. Usage of Antioxidants: Some antioxidants like BHA and BHT are used to prevent food from getting oxidised.

2. Refrigeration: The food kept in refrigerator has lesser chances of getting rancid.

3. Storage in air tight containers: The food stored in air tight containers do not get in contact with the atmospheric oxygen.

4. Flushing Nitrogen: The food flushed with nitrogen does not react with oxygen and hence, packed food items containing oils and fats are flushed with nitrogen.

5. Save from sunlight: The food kept in sunlight is more prone to get oxidised than the food kept in dark.
