In electromagnetism, displacement current is the quantity appearing in Maxwel's Equation that is defined in  term of the rate of change of elctric displacement field. Displacement current has the same unit as electric current. and it is the source of a magnetic field just as actual current is. However it is not an electric current of moving charges. but a time varying electric field.
