6CO2 + 6H2O + light energy = C6H12O6 + 6O2.

The overall equation for photosynthesis is given below:
6CO2 + 6H2O---->C6H12O6 + 6O2 +12H20
it can be seen that H2O is used as reactant as well as released as product.Therefore the overall molecules of water are mentioned in product side(12-6=6)
Also Sunlight and Chlorophyll are required for photosynthesis process.
