Metallic Utensils have to be placed in the focus of the Concave Mirror inside the Solar Cooker .

The basic reason for placing the Utensils at that position is that :

• Rays coming from the sun can be considered as Light from Sources placed at Infinity

• Now Sources at Infinity give out parallel rays.

• Parallel rays ( mostly the paraxial rays) will travel parallel to the principle axis and will meet at the focus of concave mirror after reflection .

• Hence due to concentration of light sources at the focus , we shall get maximum heat output at that point.

• Thats the reason why utensils shall be placed at that position only for maximum efficiency.
