The cotton textile industry of the country is thus facing both short-term and long-term problems. Former includes problems of high prices, shortage of raw materials, liquidity problems due to poor sales and accumulation of huge stocks due to poor demand in the market.

3. Export market declined as European industrialist  forced their governments to increase tax on imported products to flourish in their inland  market.
4. As USA refused to supply raw cotton to Europe , European industrialist turned to Indian farmers for raw cotton .thus increasing the price and demand. thus raw cotton became  too expensive for weavers.
