Gases have three characteristic properties: (1) they are easy to compress, (2) they expand to fill their containers, and (3) they occupy far more space than the liquids or solidsfrom which they form. An internal combustion engine provides a goodexample of the ease with which gases can be compressed.

Gas is third form of a substance

1.It has neither definite shape nor volume, it completely occupies the container in which they are placed

2. they are easily compressible, as you have seen in LPG or CNG cylinders
