Always the sun is the foremost and high in energy level.1% of suns energy is consumed by producers(mostly plants), when they are consumed by primary consumers like a deer, they obtain only 10% of energy from the grass(example). So if the grass has a energy of 100joules the deer gets only 10joules. It is because the grass might have spent its 90% of energy on growing and reproducing. Same way if a lion eats that deer it will only get a joule of energy cause the deer may have wasted 10J for its activities...therefore ...you know.
