Gamete are the reproductive cells which actually take part in sexual fertilization. The gametes are carriers of the genetic material from one generation to the other and also help in maintenance of the chromosome number of a species.

Zygote is the name given to the cell produced by fertilization of male and female gametes in sexual reproduction. It represents the first cell of the next generation and carries genetic information from both the parents involved. It divided repeatedly to give rise to a new individual.

gametes are of two types either male or female ,in sexual reproduction female gamete fuses with male gamete .

zygote is formed after fusion of male and female gametes, after the zygote is formed it develops into an embryo and the furthur development takes place.
