plant will not get the direct nitrogen from the soil. nitrogen fixed bacteria can change it in to small component which is used by plants...

Plants cannot take nitrogen directly from atmosphere. So nitrogen fixing bacteria such as rizobium and azetobectar convert atmospheric nitrogen into water soluble form (nitrates) which is then taken up by plants.
