The Sun hemp is a legume which is employed as a cover crop. Before sowing the seeds of the crop, some plants are grown and then processed into the loam by ploughing. These green plants, therefore, converts into green compost which enriches the soil in important elements such as Nitrogen and Phosphorus. Moreover, this increases the physical structure of the soil, control of weeds,  water absorption capacity, soil fertility and nitrogen fixation.
