The Council is composed of 15 Members: Five permanent members: China, France, Russian Federation, the United Kingdom, and the United States, and ten non-permanent members elected for two-year terms by the General Assembly (with end of term year):

Security Council is composed of fifteen UN member States, five of which are permanent members -- United States, the United Kingdom, France, the Russian Federation, and China. The permanent members have the power to 'veto' a substantive decision of the Council by voting against it.

Security Council consists of 15 Members in total. Out of which 5 are Permanent Members & 10 are Non Permanent Members.

Permanent Member consists of Russia, China, France, United Kingdom and United States.

Non-Permanent Members are elect for 2 year terms by the General Assembly.
