The vast proliferation of Buddhist enlightenment across China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, and much of East Asia was so successful because of Nalanda University. The world's first University, established in the town of RajGir, Bihar, which was founded in the early 5th century and destroyed in the 1190s by invading armies from West Asia. The first attack was led by the ruthless Islamic invader & Turkic king BAKHTIYAR KHILJI, whose troops decimated many cities and settlements in North India. All the teachers and monks in Nalanda were brutally murdered and much of the campus was crippled to the ground !
According to another historical source, a Buddhist scholar of Ayurveda treated Bakhtiyar Khilji for an illness which was deemed incurable by his court Haqims. Disturbed by the fact that how an Indian Ayurveda scholar knew more than the Haqims of his own court, Khilji decided to destroy the roots of all knowledge and ayurveda in this country. So he set fire to the world's oldest library, with 9 million books containing thousands of reputed manuscripts were burnt for several months :(
The destruction of Nalanda took place between the establishment of Oxford university in 1167 and the founding of Cambridge in 1209....By the time the first European university was established in Bologna in 1088, Nalanda had been providing higher education to more than 1000 of students from Asian countries for more than six hundred years....... yet the opening of Nalanda was the subject of headlines in all across the world.
Just imagine If This university was not razed to ground, It would have been the top premier only institution of higher learning across the world till now. The pedagogy of ancient culture must be prevailed. Knowledge of arts, culture, mathematics, science, and engineering, along with religious and ethical reasoning, has explored people across regions for thousands of years. This was the great legacy of this wonderful country but how Islamic Invader destroyed our value system

Now, Nalanda university has zero value. Not employer will like to hear it’s legend. It’s the present what count. Period
