Three effects that heat causes in a substance, are as follows -

• Temperature rise : When we apply heat energy on a substance,the temperature of that substance increases a lot and that substance becomes hot.

• Change of state : When we apply heat on a substance, the physical state of the substance is changed in most of the cases.

• Combustion : When the applied heat energy becomes successful to increase the temperature of that substance to it's combustion point,then the combustion of that substance takes place.
