Medieval India faced a large number of empires which reigned over the region for strategic purposes, some of the most important reigns where as follows:
1) the turkish invasion this was one of the first foreign invasions spearheaded by Mahmud of Ghazni. This empire ruled the modern day Delhi region.
2) the Chola empire was another important dynasty. They ruled over the entire south Indian region.
3) The mughal empire was one of the most important dynasties of this region, and ruled over the entire norhtern India.
