West Bengal - Malda District, Murshidabad District . These Muslim majority districts (they have a 50% + Muslim population even now) were given to West Bengal. On the other hand, Hindu majority Khulna division was given to East Pakistan. Well, there is now clear reports about why this exchange occurs. But I read in a Bengali book (I do not exactly remember the name or author), that since the Ganges river passed through the Malda and Murshidabad districts, local leaders feared that Pakistan might divert the entire river water. This is why they wrote to Pandit Nehru to discuss this matter with Sir Cyril Radcliffe.Assam - Karimganj district - Although the Sylhet district was acceded to East Pakistan after a referendum, Karimganj district (with a sizeable Muslim minority) was added to Assam.
