Pandya Dynasty, a lineage of kings from Madurai, were one the greatest known amongst all the post Mauryan lineages.

There were a number of significant achievements of the rulers of Pandya dynasty. Two of them were which

1. Maravarman Sundara I in 13th century, invaded the Chola country and sacked the areas like Uraiyur and Thanjavur;
2. Jatavarman Sundara I expanded the areas of the kingdom to Nellore and then to Sri Lanka.
