1 There is no official religion in India
2. Every citizen of India can preach, propagate and practise their religion with complete freedom
3. This is the basic Fundamental Right guaranteed by Indian Constitution and it belongs to Article 25 of the constitution
4. At the same time, Indian Constitution prohibits discrimination on grounds of religion, caste, sex etc
5. It allows the state to intervene in religious matters to ensure equality in religious communities.
