First reason, Because of jehangir, because he let The british Enter India,

2 reasons for the decline of the mughal empire;
1) Aurengzeb's irresponsibility- he was one of the main reason for the downfall of the empire , because of the implementation of his laws , like "1/2 of the produced harvest , was to be given as tax"
2)weak successors- after Aurengzeb, his successors were too weak to handle foreign attacks and to hold together such a vast empire..
