Answer:

The Thermometer consists of a Mercury filled bulb connected to a thin capillary with a temperature scale . It's modern visions has a small constrictions below it's s scale preventing the mercury from flowing back into the bulb , When temperature decreases again . This the maximum temperature reached is recorded .
