Answer:

According to the story, the king went to Sherlock Homes to ask for his help. Where he told the whole story to Holmes, he mentioned that he had previously affair with an American actress, Irene Adler, when he was prince. But now he was king of Bohemia. Because of Adler didn’t not belong to royal blood so it was not to possible to marry her. The king told that she threatened to disclose everything to the princess. So the king was so upset, there was also trouble in Bohemia.

Sherlock Holmes was a famous detective. He was known for his cleverness. The king of Bohemia himself came to Sherlock Holes for help. Though the king was in disguise but Holmes recognized him and addressed him as “your majesty. King wanted his photographs and letters back from her which he wrote to Irene Adler in his private paper and in his handwriting.

Holmes wanted to get information about Adler so he disguised himself as an old cab driver. He went to the place where Adler’s apartment was situated. He spent the whole day around Alder’s home. He talked with other cab drivers and anybody who seeméd to know anything about Adler. But Holmes did not know that Adler had recognized him. He knew that she was a beautiful woman and highly intelligent. She got married to a Mr. Godfrey Norton He was her previous lawyer. But Holmes’s main aim was to get the photograph by all means and that day he knew that the photograph must be in her home. In this way Holmes got information about Adler.

Anyway, the next day five o’ clock in the afternoon Holmes, now disguised as a priest, was walking in front of Irene Adler’s home when Miss Adler arrived from her daily ride in the park. As she stepped out of her cab, Holmes pretended to faint; several people came to help him and Ms. Adler finally told them to carry him into her living room, As Holmes had directed, his friend stood waiting during all this in the garden. Just outside the living room window, and at a signal from Holmes inside he threw some lighted pieces of paper into the room through the window. There was a cry of “fire!” from one of the servants, and he then disappeared. Several hours later Holmes arrived home quite pleased with himself and with the satisfactory way everything had turned out.

“It’s an old trick, Watson,” he said, “but it worked just as he expected. When someone cried “fire!” Irene Adler ran, almost automatically, to get the one thing of greatest importance in the house- the photograph. It is hidden in secret place in one of the walls, She did not remove the photograph because when she saw that the fire was only a matter of a few burning papers, she stopped, but she did all that was necessary to show him exactly where the photograph was hidden. Tomorrow they would go there with the king and with several. Policemen and got the photograph.” The next day, however, when Holmes went to Miss Adler’s house, he had one of the greatest shocks of his long career. There was no one at home, and Miss Adler and all her servants’ shocks had gone away. Holmes got this message with it. It read.

She knew very well that king required photographs. Thus, she was expecting him any day. First, she recognized him disguise as a cab driver. Don’t forget that she was an artist Yesterday she also recognized his little trick of gaining entrance to her house and forcing her to show him where the photograph was hidden. But it was not important now. The photograph was there for him. She was married now to a man much better than the king. So, she didn’t need of the photograph any longerl In this way, Adler left letters and photographs at home finally before leaving her room. And she proved herself wiser than Homes.
