Merits of Whittaker's method of classification:
- This is very accepted classification due to the phylogenetic placing of the different groups of the organisms.
- In this classification the prokaryotic organisms are placed into a separate kingdom which is very much justified.
- For the eukaryotes the Protista group was formed and solved many problems.
- The group of the fungi is generated which is separated from the other eukaryotes organisms like algae and protozoa.
- The Plantae and the Animalia are the groups which are originated in this classification.
