Answer:

there is no explicit message in the poem . the only idea is that we should treat fog as a mystery that means incrutable that's why it has feline nature .As we cannot understand a female,we cannot hope to understand it's nature

The fog poem written by Carl Sandburg tells us about the features of the fog.

The poem gives a strong message that nothing in life is permanent. One need not to feel hopeless at the time of sorrow as it will pass. The happiness and the sorrow comes silently in our life and influences us. But neither the happiness nor the sorrow is permanent. They leave us in the way they entered silently in our life.

The port metamorphically compares the fog with a cat. He says the fog, comes silently like the cat. It comes just in the way the cat enters our house walking on its soft paws.

The fog them sits quietly on its haunches just like a little kitten. It keeps an eye over the harbour and the city. It seems as if it enjoys the scenery created by it and the way it influences lives of people. Like a spectacular observer it silenly observes every thing.

Then there comes the time of its departure. At that time none comes to know that it will go away. Like the way the fog entered the city, the fog leaves it. Silently like a cat, almost alerting no one about its departure.
