Metals are arranged in the reactivity series why hydrogen is kept in the series though it is not a metal

SINCE HYDROGEN SHOWS SOME CHARACTERISTICS OF A METAL SUCH AS LOSING AN ELECTRON,REACTION WITH NON METALS. HENCE IT IS PLACED IN THE REACTIVITY SERIES
