There are several ways.
Measure the volume and mass of a liquid, and calculate D=m/V.
Pour the liquid in a graduated cylinder. Record the volume. Drop in an object that will float on the liquid. Measure the volume again, and calculate the difference (displacement volume). Mass of the float divided by displacement volume is the density of the liquid.
Use a hydrometer. It works on the same principle as (2), but is marked so you can directly read the density of the liquid.
